Here and Now
Here and Now Current mood: Back In Business Category: Back In Business Blogging
So the ep is out and i really appreciate all the positive feedback. You know
sometimes I wonder if being a artist is even worth it. The creative struggles, the
business struggles, but at the end of the day, when you hear respond to the
records you make it pushes you to keep going. Even if its not what is typical, its
best to follow your own path because everyone's road to success is unique in it's
own way. While i am all too familiar with the harsh realities of my hometown, I
never felt the need to dwell on it. When you are a true survivor and winner you
make a way and move on. It puzzles me because there are some who believe
that if you are not of a certain pedigree, or perpetuate a certain image(or
facade), that you are not worthy of success in this business. I have a problem
with that! Alot of times people get so caught up in keeping it real, and being on
their grind, that you are in the business of making music first. Where is the artistic
integrity? Just because it's not the topic of discussion on every fucking record
does not mean we don't share the same struggles or meet the same red tape.
How dare you dude? In most cases the ones doing the most barking have not
nearly been as affected or even seen the circumstances of which they speak.
Kudos to those challenging the status quo! DARE TO BE YOURSELF!!!
